I am an unapologetic geek. I like what I like and I like it a lot. When I find something I love, I tend to obsess. Luckily, most people seem to find my obsessions charming, or at least not annoying enough to avoid me.
I like learning. I love reading. Occasionally, I write.
I like test-driving cars and writing reviews.
I like well-written television. I like a show that can pull you into the story and make you love the characters. I like a show that will make you think and experience an array of emotions. I like a show that showcases imagination and fantasy while at the same time portraying realistic reactions.
I am fascinated by Superfund sites like Love Canal. My dream is to one day visit Pripyat, Ukraine. Most people don't understand my interest in these contaminated and abandoned places. I'm always happy to talk about it to anyone who wants to know.
I am intrigued by people and why they do the things they do. I am interested in motivations and reactions, heroism and cowardice, and how we display them in times of stress. I strive to be the best person I can be so that I will never have to be ashamed by my behavior.
A note about my journal: I started this journal in 2002 in order to keep in touch with my friends back home. I use my LJ like I would use an actual journal, with the added bonus of being able to read about the Doctor Who fandom on my friends page. Because of this, my journal contains mostly anecdotes about my personal life. Please bear that in mind if you'd like to add me to your flist. Anything I don't want the general public knowing goes behind a friends-only filter. If you decide to add me to your friends list, drop me a line to let me know how you found me.
These days I'm more active in Labyrinth fandom than Doctor Who. Such is life.
